At Hoyman Homestead, we believe happy hens lay the best eggs.

Our journey began in 2021 with just six hens, a small backyard coop, and a desire for fresh eggs. What started as a simple family project quickly grew into something much more. Today, we care for over 30 free-ranging hens who have plenty of room to roam, scratch, and enjoy the good life, thanks to a spacious coop, a safe pasture, and a whole lot of love.

Raising chickens is a true family effort. While my husband and I help where we can, it’s really our two teenagers who deserve the credit. They handle most of the day-to-day care and have taken real ownership of the flock. Our five dogs also play a role in keeping an eye on things (and occasionally chasing rouge chickens back inside the fence).

We first started sharing eggs with family, then neighbors, and before we knew it, our extra eggs had become a small community staple. We take pride in offering eggs from hens that are treated well, fed well, and genuinely cared for. It's important to us that our chickens live healthy, happy live. And we think you can taste the difference!
